Spotify Playlists

So we love Spotify. So we hate Spotify. It seems to be the one true place everyone meets for music (we actually use a different streaming service at our house, but needed to get into Spotify to promote the band.

The pay musicians literally fuck all. They offer a liberating service to open a world of music to people without all the hours crawling through record shops.

Oh wait, we used to LOVE crawling through record shops.

Anyway. we dismissed Spotify Playlists and rarely make a fuss about them. Then we actually checked the stats Shit! We get as lot more plays on Spotify than we expected and it must be a result of people playlisting us. So below is a list of the playlists we wanted to thank, just for the Cut EP. Before we do mention that though one other thing. If you care even remotely about a band making any kind of return on their work (and there is no reason why you should, pretty much all our songs are free to download as MP3s via this very website) bear this in mind:

  • Spotify represents 75%+ of our streamed plays but it represents less than 30% of the income we've received.
  • Apple Music represents about 20% of our online plays and more than half of our income.
So to support indie bands Fuck Spotify and use Apple Music! Truth is we're more interested in reaching people than making enough money to cover our make-up bill!

Anyway, that aside here is some Spotify love. We tend to listen to all of the playlist we are featured in out of interest, you may like some of these playlists too.
