Bad Vegan

"Hospital food. Greased with lube.”

This is our October 2024 single release, a small slice of what you need.

The truth. Once you have kissed real meat, the flavour lingers longer than you could possibly imagine. A rich, evocative taste. Death, fear and muscular flesh. Only the strongest can resist. In the end we must all become the BAD VEGAN.

We threw away the rulebook when we wrote this song. We let the pulse run through us. We screamed and we laughed and we laughed. The speakers would not go any louder, and we asked them, begged them. We screamed and we prayed for more volume.

Then we went back and got the rulebook from the trash, because rules add Craft to Art. They sharpen excess. So here is a song for you that is way too big for its stunted angry 1 minute 35 sonic assault.

Nobody plays anything at maximum volume anymore. Do it. Break the rules.

Grow me in your lab. Make me pure.

Much love to the people that have taken time to listen to our stuff and write about it.

@jpgchief said “THIS ELECTRIFYING TWO-MINUTE RUSH OF BOLD CYNICISM AND SOARING HIGH-GAIN GUITARS IS A MUST-HEAR.”
““Bad Vegan” is a bold declaration that craves authentic meat. A powerful fusion of explosive drums and punk-infused riffs. It is a revelation of chaos and anger, colliding with sonic overdrive.”

@groover_city said “We’ve looped the track relentlessly, seduced as much by its audacious brevity, which delivered multiple eargasms in record time, as by our speakers, which practically grovelled for an encore.”

“this 1 minute and 35 seconds of pure, unfiltered adrenaline proves that brevity truly is the soul of wit and wild abandon”

@rockeramag said “A short, fast-paced, and electrifying piece of garage rock with an infectious groove and an unforgettable melody... a ton of fun”

“From its diminutive runtime to its breakneck pacing and its skeletal and defined arrangement, ‘Bad Vegan’ is a short journey through everything that makes garage rock endure the waves of time.”

@edgarallanpoets said “the song’s brief runtime is deceptive, by the time it ends you feel like you’ve experienced something far more immersive”

“A quick hit of energetic, psychedelic madness”

@thepolyphonicpressco said “They write riffs that are stickier than maple sap, quicker than a racoon whose beaver is on fire.”

”Bad Vegan is another anthem, with the band leaning into their acerbic wit and satire, while packing the dynamite energy they have so often teased us with.”

@york_calling “Bad Vegan is a cacophonous 95-second punk track with plenty of surrealness in its lyrics.”

“Growling vocals share the platform with singalong harmonies in a number with plenty of textures.”

@theothersidereviews said “‘Bad Vegan’ is a kick-ass tune to be played at full volume letting the demons rest before crashing back into our souls”

“raucous, unruly, inexplicably uncouth rush of seething turmoil waging a war inside your head.”

@musicforallmag “Without an explosion, but with a harmonic touch”

“mockery and cynicism in a slightly violent degree that addresses, with a certain touch of humor, the disparity between vegans and carnivores.”

@sinusoidal.music said “Headbanging is absolutely inevitable as distortion-laden guitars create intense textures. When the 1:35 mark arrives, the urge to hit replay becomes overwhelming—such is the addictive magnetism of their sonic overload.”

“Anthemic howls rail against a plant-based world from a place of carnivorous instinct. “Bad Vegan” by 9 o’clock Nasty bears the band’s anger and restlessness. Punk fans will find much to love in this balls-to-the-wall explosion of relentless drums, visceral vocals, and scorching guitars. It’s the epitome of cathartic musical mayhem.”

@extravafrench said “The title exudes revolt, satire, and a savage criticism of a world where even acts of distrust, such as throwing a brick at a politician, are perverted by animal exploitation.”

“The lyrics are not just a nod to veganism – it's an existentialist dissection. The line "They put blood in the bricks" is not there to make you think about veganism; it is there to make you realize that, in this world, corruption and brutality are omnipresent, down to the smallest details.”

@musechronicle.music said “Sonically, the song goes hard af. From the start, the distorted guitar sounds and the heavy drums will get your vibing”

“…harming our fellow human beings with our act of just existing.”

@indiespirits.blog said “the track grabs listeners by the throat with raw, unapologetic intensity.”

“ The chaotic soundscape, built on driving guitar riffs and snarling vocals, reflects the band’s desire to push limits both musically and thematically.”

@lostinthemanor “As tight as tight can get is the feeling you get when listening to this fast-paced, mini-explosion of a song.”

“9 o’clock Nasty creates a chaotic soundscape and arranges it to create pure fun in a 1:35-minute song. The melodic chaos is almost like an anthem with the layers of vocals.”

@thisisapolloharp said “Uniting anthemic elements with denial, delusion, and defiance, they have that rebel energy that goes back to the OG rock legends”

“Designed with that retro, 80s ethos, especially in its rhythm, the track swings with a style that you want to get more and more of. The band has always had an announced charisma that stays active and dynamic throughout their compositions. But in this one, the rock n roll adds a riz that can go on for days.”

@lacavernamx “an almost cathartic intensity with provocative lyrics that reflect the dilemma between purity and decadence.”

“The song evokes the complexity of desire and the internal struggle, where the taste of real meat becomes a metaphor for longing.”
