This is our December 2024 single release, a seance with guitars.
We walk the Earth for but a few years. Judge us by the trail of love or destruction we leave behind.
Be Cool. Wrong None. The rest you can work out for yourself.
That’s the message of KID BLAST the new single by 9 o’clock Nasty, Leicester’s very own couture arthouse punk masterminds. Deviants with a purpose. Sonic mischief as a weapon of choice.
This is a song with a hook so infectious it will live free in your head for the rest of 2024 and beyond. A song with a message to live by for far longer.
Kid Blast was a real human. He got up like you. He sat on the toilet like you. He had friendships like you. He left a mark on the world, just like you will. He inspired our song.
Choose the mark you make. Take care with the traces you leave. Then blaze the path you choose. Take your light into the darkness when the story ends. Light the way for the lucky ones that follow.

“to be sung, as loud as you can, within the safety of your bedroom.”
@thisaktmusic “Known for their sharp wit, cutting-edge sounds, and ability to fuse anarchic energy with profound themes, the band cements their reputation as a powerhouse in the alt/indie scene.”
“"Kid Blast" is a sonic rollercoaster.”
@tjplnews “Anchored by a raw, driving melody and a hook that lingers long after the last note”
“In true 9 o’clock Nasty style, the track fuses sharp wit with introspection.”
@roadiemusicmag said “the impulse of punk with an interesting hard rock sensuality”
“having a state of awareness in the face of the choices made, in order to understand that they will transform the lives of many others”
@rockeramag said “endlessly engaging songwriting, sizzling hot confidence, and flamboyant display of their philosophies in the form of catchy punk earworms."
“‘Kid Blast’ is one more of the band’s deceptively simple releases. On the surface, ‘Kid Blast’ stuns with the directness of its riffs, the simplicity of the beats, and the hooligan quality of its infectious group hollers. But digging a little deeper we will find a song with a beating heart that never stops”
@york_calling said “Straight, swaggering rock and roll”
“It suits the track’s message, especially during a defiant, chanting chorus.”
@sinusoidal.music said “Kid Blast hits you like a shot of adrenaline. It’s a straight-up rock n roll track with no frills, just a tight groove and razor-sharp guitars.”
“The track’s simplicity is its strength. There’s no over-production here, just the raw, unfiltered energy that 9 o’clock Nasty does so well. The hook will get stuck in your head, no question about it.”
@theothersidereviews said “Relentless and rambunctious, 9 o’clock Nasty is the band you don’t take home to your mother.” But Nicole, you promised we could meet her if we behaved….
“Sentimental and sincere, it’s not a ballad to be adored but a cheeky kid with a rapscallion attitude who wants you to consider him a rogue, but he’s too cute for that.”
@pitchperfect158 said “It’s a celebration of attitude, delivered with a smirk and a punch.”
“The band channels the same irreverent spirit that made the Beastie Boys' "Fight for Your Right" a generational touchstone. A ripping guitar solo provides an electric jolt, but it’s the shout-along chorus that cements the track’s staying power.”
@audiokaradipress said “Kid Blast brings the sting of a paper cut and the goodness of a groovy strut all in one swoop”
“There is no waiting, for Kid Blast never waited. Thrown straight into the bubbling potion of energy that the song is, 9 o’clock Nasty are your impromptu rock band that inspired your kid to pick up Smoke on the Water at 9 o’clock in the pm. You can almost hear the whole faction sing the song with passion for the gangster.”
@cheerstothevikings said “I wasn’t prepared for how much this song would stick with me, but here we are.”
““Kid Blast” is raw energy from the first beat. The powerful synergy between guitars, drums and vocals is polished to perfection and the result is an irresistibly catchy tune.”
@allenpetersonreviews said “playful sarcasm and nonstop energy”
“It’s deceptively straightforward—direct riffs, simple beats, and a shout-along chorus that feels like it was made to echo through packed rooms. What makes this song so special is how real and down-to-earth it feels.”
@lostinthemanor said “9 o’clock Nasty knows how to pack their music with power, wit, and charm”
“artsy, authentic, and audacious sound, blending punk fervor, indie and hard rock energy.”
@lacavernamx said “With its mix of sonic chaos and provocative lyricism, 9 o'clock Nasty redefines modern punk while reminding us that music can also be a tool for introspection.”
“a punk song full of attitude and reflections.”
